Ursa Minor is a puzzle game made in four weeks by nine developers. You play as Little Bear, who has fallen from the skies and landed in an alien world. This world’s sunlight is harmful to the little cub, making his journey back to the skies, back to his mother, much more difficult. Luckily you have the power to control the rotation of the sun, allowing you to create safe shadows where you need to traverse.

During this project I made mood boards and concept art for the character and game assets, as well as the menu UI. I also made VFX in Unreal for the bear’s health stars inside his body and for the trailer’s falling star. The trailer itself I both filmed and edited.

Concepts

Concept art of different assets. The idea was that you land in a temple dedicated to this powerful sun, hence the theme of sun praise.

Concept art of the playable character. The stars in his body represents his health. They start to fade if you spend too long in the sunlight.

Door functionality concept, made for our 3D artists so they would understand how the mechanics would work.

Syn symbol concept made for the 3D artists.
