Donut Pursuit is a game made by five developers in a couple of weeks. Meant to be a mix of retro classics, it draws mechanics from Metroid, Donkey Kong, and Pac Man. You play as a graffiti artist who gets caught by the police and now has to run from them. Your goal is to gather donuts which you can then bribe the law with in order to get away.

I was responsible for designing and animating the playable character, along with creating the UI. To achieve the retro feel we decided to create the visuals for the game entirely in pixel art, which was challenging but a lot of fun! I wanted to keep the retro feel in the animations by using few frames and made them look “choppy”. In the UI I also wanted the retro feel, but with a modern twist.
